Holy Childhood High School is a traditional High School for girls in Half-Way-Tree, St. Andrew, welcoming students at the Grades 7-13 Levels. The primary educational goal of Holy Childhood High School is to prepare students for professional success in the world’s labour market. It is the School’s aim to make our students literate citizens and competent problem-solvers on the international stage. 

The School’s curriculum encourages the development of critical thinking skills within its framework by utilizing a student centered learning programme. Our curriculum demonstrates a Multidisciplinary Approach to learning in the areas of Science, Modern Languages, Humanities, Arts and Vocation, Business, Language Arts, Multiple Intelligences.

Our main curriculum goals are that students:

• Will exhibit personal and social responsibilities.
• Practice personal academic integrity.
• Demonstrate independent learning through instruction developed in Research Methodology.

Through daily interactions students also learn in the informal curriculum how to develop lifelong learning skills embedded in the School’s Vision and Mission Statements. This is achieved through the work and initiatives of our highly competent, innovative and dedicated Staff. Each student is guided in her academic pursuits through seminars, workshops, subject based study marathons, and the use of modern technologies and methodologies.

Many of our students matriculate to tertiary institutions to pursue further studies in the areas of Science, Technology, Education, Law, Business etc. Holy Childhood High School has also enjoyed successes in academic competitions such as the National Spelling Bee Championship, Science, Mathematics and Essay Competitions among others.

Our past students, parents and other stakeholders assist in curriculum enhancement projects in the school. Career on-site experience is offered to our Grade 9 students to assist them in matriculating to Grade 10. Our alumnae play a pivotal role in this venture.
