The School: Holy Childhood High School is a Catholic day school for girls ages 12 -19. 

Location: Half Way Tree in the centre of Kingston, Jamaica, W.I.


Accreditation: The school is among the top ten high schools to which students who pass the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) are placed.


Academic System: Holy Childhood High School operates on a two semester system, with breaks in the fall, spring and summer. Students are expected to complete 20 hours of community service in their final year (Grade 11), unless otherwise required by local universities. There are no honors or AP classes.


Students sit the Caribbean Secondary Examinations Council (C.S.E.C) examinations after 5 years and are awarded a place in 6th form if they qualify. They are also accepted in some universities at this time. At the end of 2 years of 6th form, students will have completed the CAPE examinations which qualify them for all universities in the island. 75% of our Sixth Form Students attend 4 year colleges while 10% will attend 2 year colleges.


Enrollment: There are over 1700 students on roll. Classes are structured from Grades 7 - 11 and Upper and Lower 6th forms. Classes are taught on a block basis.


Extra Curricular: Students are expected to participate in extracurricular activities throughout their time in school. These activities also provide for competition within the school, and/or on an inter-school basis.
