The Holy Childhood High School Choir is one of the most eminent choirs in Jamaica. Founded in 1980 by Paul Kälin, it has grown and become established under the direction of several distinguished musicians such as Mr. Clyde Walters and Mrs. Camesha Walters-Murray. Since 2011, it has been under the direction of Mr. Ray Banton and Mr. Herbert McLean.

The choir has 20 singers who are well balanced among all vocal ranges, and it performs songs of different genres. Members are highly committed and share a common ideal of making music of the highest standards. The members remain faithful to the choir motto which states;

“Aspire Unto Excellence Because it is a Replica of Who God is in You.”

The School Choir has entered numerous competitions; including The JCDC Schools Festival, and TVJ’s All Together Sing, thereby gaining recognition and numerous accolades for our School. We serve our School Family by performing at our annual Prize Giving, Carol Service, Sports Awards, and Graduation Ceremonies, among others.

The young ladies of the School Choir have also been involved in community service; visiting with, and ministering to the residents at the Bellevue Hospital. In addition the Choir has performed at the Pegasus Hotel, several church functions, funerals and concerts.

Achievements:
JCDC Schools Festival Competitions: Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals
TVJ’s All Together Sing: 4th Place & Golden Note Award 2012
