School Band

school band4

The Holy Childhood High School Band comprises a mixture of musically talented students with a love for music. Through the instrumentality of former Principal Sister Mary Stephanie Grey, FMS, the Band was formed in the late 1980’s. It has remained an outstanding feature of our school; empowering its members to develop their music skills, stimulate joy and happiness while working together in harmony.

We have proudly represented our School at several school and church events as guest performers; participated in workshops and competitions with other schools. Our Band has produced many great musicians: one international drummer; several saxophonists and music teachers in schools - just to name a few.

In 2012 we were honoured with a special visit by the Smokey Mountain Quintet from Western Carolina University in the United States. On that occasion we were taught new skills using wind instruments.
