We begin this academic year by celebrating with pride the academic achievements of our students in the 2017 CSEC and CAPE Examinations. Congratulations, ladies! We are very proud of you.  Yet, what a season with which to begin the new school year! Many students in our Region will have their schooling disrupted and delayed in the aftermath of hurricanes Harvey and Irma! Floods, loss of human lives, homes and cities destroyed, more hunger, more thirst, more nakedness... and once again we are being called to re-evaluate our values and to reach out to those in need.

As a nation we grieve the loss of too many children through violence and accidents; while many of our students are grieving the loss of their parents and loved ones.  In recent times, several members of our staff have lost parents.  Frustration, anger, fear, grief, disillusionment, and distress abound…and once again we are being called to re-evaluate our own values and reach out to those in need.

In the midst of it all, Brand Holy Childhood stands as a model of Hard Work, Excellence, Reward and Service (H.E.R.S.). The motto of our school rings true in the courage, commitment and sacrifice of our students, staff and parents.  For this, we are truly grateful.  Let us together as a School Family pledge our support to honour this model; and May God who began this work of excellence 80 years ago bring it to fruition one hundredfold.  Lord, give success to the work of our hands.

With Blessings for a model year.
