Grade 7 Awards Ceremony 2014

Welcome to Grade 7; the first stage of your High School years! At this stage students are oriented into the Holy Childhood culture of discipline, excellence and holiness as a way of life.

They are exposed to a wide variety of academic subjects and extra-curricular activities. As “freshers” they are nurtured and cared for by both staff and “big sisters” at the higher Grade levels; along with members of our Alumnae.

We have several motivational programmes in place to motivate and encourage a spirit of academia and excellence:

The Champion Class Competition is launched at the start of each academic year and culminates with the coveted Awards Ceremony at the end of the academic year. During the year, individuals have an opportunity to receive awards leading up to this final event:

1. Star Awards presented each month to outstanding classes in which students have demonstrated outstanding attendance, punctuality, conduct and deportment.

2. Certificate Awards are presented each month to
• The Student of the Month
• The Teacher of the Month

3. Medal Awards are presented to
• All Monitresses
• The Most Improved Students

4. Champion Class of the Year Trophy and the Most Outstanding Form Teacher of the Year Award are presented at the Awards Ceremony at the end of the academic year.

Confidence and leadership skills are encouraged and developed at this stage as students are elected to leadership roles under the supervision of their Form Teachers and Grade Supervisors:

• Class Monitress
• Student Council Representative
• Litter Wardens
• Planning and leading devotional exercises
